The founders of the company, Ruth and Eddie Goldstein, have been involved with the manufacturing of narrow fabrics for more than 50 years. (Eddie was one of the developers of the zipper. He developed many design and manufacturing ideas to bring the zipper into standard, commercial production at economical costs.) Zippers use tapes as a foundation for the "teeth" as well as a means of attaching zippers to other products. In the late 1950's a weave plant in North Carolina was established to produce the tapes. In order to maintain a consistent work flow, the weave division produced tapes for a wide range of other applications.

In the 1970's, Ruth and Eddie sold the zipper business and decided to focus on woven tapes. Textile Tape Weavers was started in 1978. (Of course in any business there are many avenues to take. Textile Tape Weavers produced a wide range of tapes in its early years.) In the last 10 years it has focused on mattress and upholstery requirements.

Unfortunately Eddie passed away on March 10, 2000.  We will miss him dearly. Ruth has recently retired from the company.

Their son, Barry Goldstein, now operates the plant with close supervision from his little sister, Joanne, and her husband, Larry Rosenfeld. (In addition there are daily conversations with the "retired" Ruth).
