Textile Tape Weavers has spent a considerable amount of time and energy designing custom made machines for production of mattress tapes. This enables us to control costs, while improving quality and efficiency. Our operation has the following features:
The facility operates 24 hours per day, five days per week (assuming there is no snow/ice or floods).

Textile Tape Weavers has designed its own dyeing, finishing, and spooling machinery. Rather than making do with machines developed for an array of applications, we have designed equipment specifically for the mattress and upholstery tape requirements. This has enabled us to refine products for each customer's specific needs with a minimum of setup time.

The plant has almost as many computer workstations as employees. This assures not only monitoring, but a controlled environment to insure a high quality product. We implemented a barcode tracking/inventory control system almost 10 years ago. It has been constantly upgraded and refined. It now operates in a full Visual environment using Windows NT and the newest iteration, Windows 2000.

The company has been using fax machines since their standardization more than 17 years ago. Email was implemented almost three years ago for additional communication. This optionally provides our international customers with current order status and copies of packing lists and invoices that are more readable than faxing.

Because of our manufacturing methods and cost control, approximately 50% of Textile Tape's Weavers production goes overseas. Our marketplace is the world. We have established customers in nearly every region where mattresses are produced.

The products and methods are constantly under review for improvements:
In the past year we have accomplished:

  • Improved the white tape (making it whiter),
  • Switched to a silicone lubricant to improve sewing,
  • Improved the winding quality at spooling,
  • Enhanced the product labels on the cases for better readability,
  • Made our tape constructions more consistent.
  • More computer controls in the dispensing of dyes and chemicals.

Scheduled changes for the next year include:

  • We will further improve spool quality.
  • Our 19 standard dyed colors are now available at the same cost as white.
  • Tape will be enhanced at the weave/construction stages.
  • Faster turn around time for special orders.
  • Improved quality on lurex tapes.

Textile Tape Weavers has taken a contemporary approach to its manufacturing methods. We are continuously upgrading our system with an emphasis of making sure each customer is completely satisfied with quality, service, and price.
